![]() This was inconvenient as I had exchanged pounds to dollars before my trip to avoid paying by card. ![]() Though they don't accept cash! Which is ridiculous - I was willing to PAY with actual legal tender. I like to collect magnets, so I bought one. The shop is cute, has a variety of items. We waited an extra 20 minutes for the elevator to return to the ground. The rotating glass floor was very impressive, though it was very busy. she asked for my passport however, I do not want to be carrying that around with me as it is more of an important document when traveling. After looking online, I cannot find any information to say that a UK driving licence is an unacceptable form of identification. I questioned whether its a Washington State law and she said yes (this is odd as this has never been a problem for my boyfriend using the same form of ID). I waited in the que for 5 minutes to get a drink for the lady behind the counter to not accept my UK driving licence as a form of ID. This is unusual for me as I rarely drink. I fancied a Seattle cider at the top as they have a bar and small cafe (and a restaurant on the floor below). Views were lovely, though was very busy at the top and unfortunately I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked to. We went up in the elevator, which was rammed full of people, a bit uncomfortable but only lasts 41 seconds. Had a free picture taken by the staff which was good! Staff were friendly on entering, qued for about 20 minutes for the elevator. We purchased tickets using the automated ticketing machine around quarter to the hour and we were able to enter on the hour (so it wasn't too busy! And I'm glad we didn't have to prebook). We walked to the Space Needle from Downtown Seattle. The gift shop has some unusual items you can pick up, like a $5 make-while-you-wait machine mold of the Space Needle.Ä«uying a ticket was straight forward. The group photo is a bit cheesy as you can choose the background and it looks like you photo shopped yourself into pictures of places, which you technically did! I hope they are better on a nice sunny day. The selfies we got were very dark, probably because it was almost sunset when we went. The free selfies at the top and the group photo before the elevator are a nice touch. The revolving floor is also well done but it is a little scary to stand on the glass floor panels! We went on a very chilly day so we didn't stay outside for too long. It looks very bright inside with the glass walls, and the glass panels that lean outwards allows you to not only look out but down as well. We went on a Tuesday so it was not very busy. It cost $29 (WA resident price) per person for the visit, so it is pricey but for someone visiting Seattle, it is probably a must do. so when my brother and his family came to visit, we went together. I don't even remember the last time I was in the Space Needle.
